After Brexit negotiations this new fiscal measure will be made mandatory for citizens of the European Union when crossing any international borders between the State members which did not join the Eurozone.
The new-to-be tax means a point for no return on cohesive politics — it is the first movement towards a more protectionist model ever since the end of WWII. Amongst other European leaders, French President Emmanuel Macron critisised the decision and encouraged the Eurogroup to reconsider it.
The fee will be paid individually and will cost an average of £30 and according to some economists will imply an increasing rate of structural deficit for the coming two decades.
