Russian-Azerbaijani war: Dmitry Medvedev puts stop to invasion following Baku Blitz destruction

This morning, Russian Vice President Dmitry Medvedev, who was elected president of Russia following Putin’s death, announced that the Russian invasion of Baku, Azerbaijan had been stopped because he believed that war with two foreign countries would have catastrophic consequences. The Russian army have destroyed roughly a quarter of Baku when the Azerbaijan capital’s Blitz operation commenced earlier this month. Sergei Lavrov told Medvedev that Putin would have wanted the invasion of Azerbaijan to continue, but was told that the invasion of Ukraine was bad enough and that it would lead to disaster if anymore countries were invaded.

While the invasion of Ukraine is still not over, Russia have now made peace with Azerbaijan due to Medvedev’s decision to stop the invasion.
