There has been a message around Twitter and Facebook saying: "Unfortunately, we are cancelling Mario Kart 9 due to severe amounts of infection of COVID-19. We know change can be difficult, but it has no use. We would like to thank everyone who made it as far as possible."
However, this message is confirmed to be a hoax that was created by a fake Nintendo account. The real Nintendo said this message: "Guys, MK9 is NOT ending. This message that you've seen is a hoax made by a fake account of the same name. We've took action, and the game still remain in development. See you around May 1st."
The user that made this hoax has been terminated from the social media's, including the post itself. Mario Kart 9 will not end it's big game during the respective timing, and guess what? It never ends.
