April 4' 2020: In the web session that we had with New Delhi based "Strategic Consultant", Amit Chopra, he was found to be extremely critical of the priorities set by RBI and Finance Ministry in last few years. Important to note that a "White Paper" published by him in 2015 had clearly stated emergence of recession of "bigger magnitude than 2007/08" in 2022; however, while Banking Systems across the globe were shoring up liquidity and capital to be prepared for the "eventuality", India had set priorities of completely different nature for themselves leading to, weakening banking system and economy slowdown. In an ideal environment, preparation for 2022 would have helped India shape up better to tackle the current crisis. More to follow on his bulletin soon.
