Last friday (March 13) around six p.m New Brunswick students were informed that schools will be closed for the next two weeks. Today (March 18) there was a district meeting deciding that the rest of the year will be much too affected to continue. Experts predict that they will not be going back to school in the two weeks suggested so they have just decided to cancel it for the safety of the staff, students and community. The schools will be emailing short articles to read and they will be tested at the normal testing time (June) on strictly the necessary materials. During today’s meeting Moncton High Schools principal Mike Belong stated that he has confidence in his staff and students and their cleanliness. He believes that they are the most prepared for a situation like this and agreed to take responsibility for any issues. While all the other schools will be working from home, Moncton high school students will push through and finish this school year.
