Captain Abbas and F/O AbdulQader
A Pakistan International Airlines 26 Year Old Boeing 777 with Registration HZ-193PK was on approach into Riyadh King Khalid International Airport when suddenly the aircraft lost an engine and due to imbalance, the plane flipped to the left side and dropped 4000 meters, almost touching the buildings of the Vibrant Capital of the Kingdom.
First Officer Retired Air Force Pilot Mohammad AbdulQader tells us the story:
"Captain Abbas was not wearing his seat-belt at the time and was completing his coffee before our short final approach. Immediately we say the engine roll back on The APU Monitor and Captain Abbas leaned backwards to get his checklist. The plane then jerked to the left and we were falling from the sky. Captain Abbas was thrown to the back of the Flight Deck and I pushed the autopilot button off and pulled hard on the Yoke. After the plane was made level and the ATC was informed, I looked back at the Captain and his face was full of blood.
Immediately I called Cabin Supervisor to the flight deck and I told her to get the cabin ready and help the captain. I declared Emergency Landing. Captain Abbas was injured, but he said it was the duty of him to go check on the passengers. Glasses were broken, people were bloody, and the situation was bad."
