The Isle of Man is to take in the Belarusian refugees , totalling two thousand , to ease pressure on the Polish border.
They will be housed in all hotels and boarding houses starting in Douglas.
To help with costs, all Manx residents will pay an extra five pounds a week into a refugee fund and if this does not cover all costs a further five pounds a week will be taken off all residents.
We must make sure the refugees are well taken care of, i.e. food , mobiles , laptops , clothing etc.
If residents fail or resist these payments, they will incur a fine of an extra five pounds a week.
The only way not to pay is to leave the island and leave your house to a family of refugees.
