Dingdong Dantes admits he initially hesitated to accept his role in GMA-7’s upcoming series Ang Dalawang Mrs. Real.
Aside from it being different from previous roles, Dingdong said he also thought about the moral issues that would be tackled in the story and also about their past with The diamond star Maricel Soriano. he state that even though they have a past, they are open to each other so they are also able to work together again on a project.
In Ang Dalawang Mrs. Real, Dingdong will portray Anthony Real, a man who is in love with two women and marries them both.
The two women are endearing to Dingdong’s character, making him feel complete as a man, husband and a father.
“Siyempre, maraming moral issues din,” Dingdong points out.
“Kumbaga, ayaw ko rin namang ma-misrepresent ang mga kalalakihan.
“Hindi lang naman ako ang may ganung concern, also the network.
“Gusto lang naman natin is magbigay ng magandang istorya and at the same time may matututunan ka.”
It is said that because apart from his ex-girlfriend Maricel soriano, his future wife is the role. and that is different from what he did, he is very interested.

Eventually, Dingdong accepted the challenge since the Kapuso actor thinks the character of Anthony already exists in Philippine society.
“Siguro human lang talaga ‘yong napiling role,” he explains.
“Kasi, wala namang perpektong tao, meron at merong talaga tayong gagawing pagkakamali.
“Nagkataon lang na ito, ‘yong iha-highlight sa show na ‘to ay ‘yong pagkakamali niya.
“Siyempre, ang importante is how they will rise in the situation, papaano sila mabubuhay.
“‘Yon ang challenge do’n kasi I don’t know anything about being married with one [wife]. How much more with two [wives]?”
How did Dingdong prepare for his portrayal of Anthony Real?
He replied, “You know, siguro makikita mo sa kapaligiran mo.
“Maaaring mayroon kang makikilala, mga kaibigan, who have not just two, maybe three families and you know they make both happy.
“Minsan nakikita mo rin naman ‘yon so, parang nagiging character mo study mo rin sila.”
Dingdong also assures viewers that the story of Ang Dalawang Mrs. Real will be acceptable to Filipino viewers.
He assures, “Sisiguraduhin ko rin naman na ‘yong end result nito ay favorable to everyone.”
Dingdong's leading ladies in the series are Lovi Poe (as Shiela Real) and the Diamond Star Maricel Soriano (as Millet Real).
