In a recent study sponsored by the American Kennel Club, several dog breeds were reviewed for genetic markers to discover the most active of the bunch. It shocked many to find the less-than-well known Plott Hounds ranked well above all other breeds in terms of potential energy. Plott hounds have been found to have slightly longer small intestines, leading them to absorb 15 more B12 than the second most energetic breed, Australian cattle dogs. The study is expected to be published in Nature later this year.
