Last Thursday, a man was caught stealing baked goods from the local Greggs. The police were called on the scene only to find he him on his getaway vehicle; a Dora The Explorer children's Bicycle. although slow, he was faster than the police on foot, resulting in a 1 and half hour long Police chase, ending in Shaun being arrested.

After the arrest, he was interviewed but spoke slurring his words and police could not make out much of his rambling, therefore no motives to his crimes were found. Shaun claimed to be "Off his nut" on "Jaffa Cakes." further testing found high traces of DMT, Heroin and alcohol in his system. his bag was searched, and alongside the stolen goods, 7 Lucozade Sport bottles were found, 3 of which were empty and none of which had a receipt. Police also found a bag of prawn cocktail walkers in his pocket, though there was a receipt on him at the time of the search. overall, 5 steakbakes, a vegan sausage roll and a gingerbread man (with the head missing) was attempted to be stolen, leading up to the chase.

After Shaun was arrested, his family was contacted for interview, though only his mother was available.

she argued "Shaun's done nowt wrong before, he's never like this", claiming that he should be let off as he has not caused any damages or harm.

Shaun Saunder's court hearing is due for April 9th, next month, at Darlington County Court, 09:30am.
