Just as the Simpsons has been alleged to have predicted several events that actually occurred years following the airing of previous episodes, such as predicting that Donald Trump would be president of the United States 16-years prior to his election, the makers of the longest-running animated comedy in world history have, ironically, predicted their own demise. It has been announced that the Simpsons Movie 2, titled "The Doom of Springfield," scheduled to debut Sunday February 13th, 2022, will mark the end of the 32-year run for Bart, Lisa, Maggie, Homer, and Marge. The debut is scheduled a week following the Simpsons' first-ever live appearence during the Super Bowl half-time show, featuring Bart streaking the audience on his skateboard while maggie leaps into the crowd and crowd-surfs throughout the front rows of the venue. Backstage, Homer will be shown eating donuts and sipping Duff Beer at his workstation at the Springfield Nuclear Powerplant, sadly followed by images of Grampa Simpson's funeral, with Marge, Lisa and Maggie all dawning vales and eating Doritos. David Hoffman, CEO of Dunkin Donuts, who is sponsoring the Simpsons' appearance at the Super Bowl was quoted as saying "all good things must come to an end. Personally, I thought the series sucked after season 9. But, it's not over till the fat lady sings." Hoffman stated that, "back in the good ol' days, America ran on the Simpsons. Today, America runs on Dunkin."
