Main character of Boku no Hero Academia, Izuru Midoriya almost claimed a well-deserved spot in the Super Smash Bros Ultimate Fighter Pack 2. In an interview with Sakurai, he stated that anime characters could not be a part of Smash, albeit, "good" anime characters. This means characters like Goku have an actual chance at clashing with the "Brothers". There's just no reason for a new anime character like Midoriya to become a part of the roster. Heck, even Kirito from Sword Art Online would be a better fighter. Personally, I'd take Asuka from evangelion to join to watch her get penetrated by Corrin's forward smash.
