Inside Leak Sources at Mojang have confirmed Minecraft 1.18 will be the “Combat and Cobalt” Update. The main focus of the update is ‘Cobalt’ which will also be known as “Blue Redstone/Bluestone” It will be found as “Nether Cobalt Ore” only obtainable from the Nether, it will drop 1 - 2 Cobalt Crystals, which can be smelted to get “Bluestone”, which will be a 2x better version of Redstone. Although you need to combine it with Lapis before you get “Bluestone Wiring Dust” A new mob called “Cobalt Mech” will be found near Cobalt Ore in the Nether.
