Según el alcalde, José Manuel Cañón, la exportación de cebollas a nivel internacional ha permitido el crecimiento económico del pueblo, y por lo tanto el pueblo ha adquirido cierto poder adquisitivo, superando en efectivos al ejercicto español y al francés.
