The furry community is a quickly growing subculture in America and around the world, yet they have mostly gone unrecognized politically until this Monday.
President Biden has not yet revealed his “fursona”, a term meaning a persona donned by someone in the furry community as an anthropomorphic animal, but he did tweet a powerful three-letter word strongly associated with their culture: “uwu”.
This word is supposed to symbolize two eyes closed with an animal mouth in the center, and is usually written by furries to show that they are happy or as an interjection. Surely furries around the globe will take this as a sign of recognition from the leader of the free world, and who knows when we’ll see our first furry cabinet member?
