Recent rumours have been discussing how Minecraft, a video game created in May 2009 for children that quickly became the most popular game on the planet. Even today Minecraft still has 126 million users worldwide. However, rumours that began early in 2020 suggested Minecraft would be shutting down. This news was quickly proven as false after some tweets from the Mojang community. But 2020 is full of surprises, a few hours ago Minecraft announced, "Minecraft will be shutting down in 2021, March 13... due to server issues and recent legal developments Minecraft/Mojang will be unable to continue." This news has already sent many YouTubers spiralling including PopularMMOs who released a video on the subject and only three hours after it's release had 1.5 million views.
This goes without saying, 2020 is one of the worst years for Gen-Z but taking the most popular game from the world helps this year leap to a whole new level.
