YouTube the online video sharing website owned by Alphabet Inc’s multi billion dollar company Google has announced YouTube will cease all operations on the 8th of January 2025 at 3:05 PM PDT. Google has made this decision due to multiple big advertisers leaving the platform in light of constant changes to the platform which has caused many users to leave, New Laws and Rule on the platform (such as COPPA and Demonetisation ) causing creators to be reluctant to upload or earning money on other platforms and multiple incidents with creators which can affect and put “a bad light” on advertisers campaigns. The only hope for the platform is if it's bought out and restructured by a select few companies which are applicable to purchase it. Some of these companies include Amazon, Apple, Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo and StoryFire. However if the company is not bought buy 2022 it will be indefinitely shut down in 2025. YouTube has announced they will help monetised creators financially for up to five year and help them find new jobs. YouTube official statement on this is “We deeply regret to say YouTube will be shutting down on the 8th of January 2025 at 3:05 PM PDT due to lack of funds. We will be helping all monetised creators through this tough time financially and mentally. If you want to save any videos from the platform before it shuts down you can download videos for offline viewing with YouTube Premium or through you creator dashboard. Once the website goes offline all videos will be erased permanently. We are deeply saddened that we have to make this announcement but are thankful for all the great years we had as a video sharing platform”. This shutdown will really be a end of countless online communities and a end of a era.
