The many people that enjoy the peculiar sport of fencing are happy, but not for long. The NZ government has announced that fencing will soon be removed from the New Zealand community. This announcement was decided to be made public over 2 years ago, but it was postponed for unknown reasons. On the 24th of July 2020, 6:13 p.m, the announcement was made. Many people have protested in anger, but the government says it has many reasons. Even still, many people do not know of the tragic news.
The new law (banning fencing) came with many reasons.
-The in-safeness of the sport; Over 5 people die a year from the sport, due to protection vests etc. not being checked.
-Reminding the country of war. NZ is a war (and nuclear) free country. The only conditions to this are if another commonwealth country is attacked; follow the fact that the country attack weren't attacking other people recently.
-There are many other reasons, but I, the person who is reporting this, am about to have dinner.
Thank you, and I hope (whoever you are out there) you don't break the law when fencing will be officially banned on the 16th of August.
