After extensive research by scientists, they have now confirmed that the Turtle is meant to be in the class Amphibia instead of Reptilia. They have researched that the oldest ancestor of the modern turtle was amphibian-like and ate, moved, and lived like a modern amphibian. Scientists have also found that the turtle has more of the amphibious traits, such as moist skin, semi-aquatic lifestyles (with the exception of sea turtles), and a diet similar to most amphibians.
