ROBLOX has officially announced that on September 22nd, 2020, ROBLOX will shut down.

What is ROBLOX? ROBLOX is an online virtual playground and workshop, where kids of all ages can safely interact, create, have fun, and learn. It's unique in that practically everything on ROBLOX is designed and constructed by members of the community. ROBLOX is designed for 8 to 18 year olds, but it is open to people of all ages. Each player starts by choosing an avatar and giving it an identity. They can then explore ROBLOX - interacting with other players by chatting, playing games, or collaborating on creative projects. Each player is also given their own peice of underdeveloped real estate along with a virtual toolbox with which to design and build anything - be it a navigable skyscraper, a working helicopter, a giant pinball machine, a multiplayer "Capture the Flag" game or some other, yettobedreamed-up creation. There is no cost for this first plot of virtual land. By participating and by building cool stuff, ROBLOX members can earn specialty badges as well as ROBLOX dollars ("ROBUX"). In turn, they can shop the online catalog to purchase avatar clothing and accessories as well as premium building materials, interactive components, and working mechanisms.

As of September 22nd, 2020, ROBLOX will remove everything from the website as well as the website. ROBLOX will discontinue selling ROBLOX action figures, and much more.

I interviewed the CEO of ROBLOX, David Baszucki, to ask him if ROBLOX was shutting down any time soon and his report on the ROBLOX website over the years. He said, "We have decided to shut down ROBLOX officially due to all the lawsuits we've been getting from a game titled "Brick hill" saying that our company, ROBLOX, copied them even though we've been around before them. It was a hard decision to make, but it was our only choice. We've had a blast on the website over the past 14 years, but we have to shut the website down before one of us, or even some of us, get horribly high fines for copyright."

So, to all ROBLOX players. Please be ready for September 22nd, 2020.
