Sony has recently announced its plans to purchase the Mario Series. An employee at Playstation has announced that there will be a Gran Turismo and Mariokart crossover that we can expect it "to make Forza Horizon look like something a kid made. You can have your favorite real-life cars with the Mario characters." This comes after news of Microsoft securing a deal with Game Freak and Creatures for the rights to Pokémon. Jim Ryan, the president of Playstation says, "We must keep competing to stay alive. Sony exclusively can now make and sell Mario games and merchandise. All Nintendo Mario games will have their production canceled, but we have reached an agreement allowing us to port over some previous Mario games. There will be a Mariokart 8 and Mario Odyssey port at the least." These games are expected to sell well, considering the large amount of people playing video games when quarantined.
