Governor Kim Reynolds announced today that all beer, wine and alcohol sales in the State of Iowa will be suspended for the next 30 days. The Governor enacted these measures to promote social distancing, noting "Many Iowans have chosen to continue to gather in groups and parties despite current social distancing guidelines. These gatherings frequently include the use of alcohol and often occur when children are present. As the global pandemic grows, we must do more to prevent the spread". The new regulations go into effect at 11:59 pm on April 1st. All alcohol sales from bars, restaurants, liquor stores, grocery stores and convenience stores will be prohibited.
