According to the CDC, researchers at Johns Hopkins University made an astonishing discovery on Tuesday that will change the lives of many anglers across America. Freshwater fish are now known to be carriers of Covid-19, according to microbiologist Aston Hijab, MD. At this time it is still unclear just how fish such as blue gill, perch, walleye, crappies and trout have contracted the virus, but it seems plausible that it has come from insects and spiders who have come into contact with bats and other known carriers. People are advised to wear protective clothing and insect repellant when stepping outdoors and to not linger outdoors for more than a few minutes. All fishing, including freshwater and ocean fishing is currently banned until further notice. Violators will be fined $5,000 and subject to jail time.
