Ao longo dos últimos dias, tem sido discutido dentro do Governo espanhol a realização de um dos maiores eventos do Mundo, o San Fermín, devido ao vírus Covid 19. Depois da ameaça de independência pelo Governo basco, esta manhã a Câmara Municipal de Pamplona emitiu um comunicado na língua basca: "Pamplonesak, Pamplonesak, euskaldunak, gure identitatea dugu eta ez dugu inoiz utziko. San Fermín gurea da eta beste inork ez, San Fermín euskalduna da, San Fermin Iruñea da. Inoiz ez diegu utziko gurea dena har dezaten. Gure santuen jaiak ez dira hain handiak izatearen errua, baina gure santua ospatuko da. Uztailaren 6an Iruñean zain zaude. Gora San Fermin."
