A lot of youtubers complained that one of their videos would get demonetized and they couldn't earn any revenue from that video. YouTube, owned by Google, decided to remove demonetization on 27th of May 2020. The CEO said, "Many users that use our platform complained that they earned no revenue from their demonetized videos or their ads were limited, so we decided to officially end demonetization and remove it from our codes".
