Se han reportado más de diez casos en total en toda la Argentina, tres en la provincia de Río Negro, dos en Bariloche y cinco en la capital de dicho país. Hasta el momento no hay muertos pero los afectados están en una urgente internación en el Hospital General de Agudos Bernardino Rivadavia.
Las causas del contagio son dudosas pero se rumorea que pudo haber sido a causa de comida china en mal estado, la mayoría de pacientes tienen en común el haber visitado el tan conocido barrio chino en la ciudad de Buenos Aires.
