The owner Claus lykke Jensen has confirmed the game is shutting down may 17th 2020, "Due to underpopulation and lack of money Moviestarplanet, blockstarplanet, boonieplanet is officially shutting down, however we're opening Moviestarplanet 2. We've been experimenting with a new game". Many users are upset but looking forward to the new game being made.
