Nintendo stated on the official Breath of the Wild page, "The sequel will be cancelled due to insufficient funds and lack of popularity. While The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was one of our greatest games so far, the money we have earned isn't enough to make the game, thus having no choice but to cancel the sequel, which was going to be entitled, "The Legend of Zelda, Touch of the Wild". However, we have more than enough money to make 1 remake of your favorite games, like A Link to the Past, Ocarina of Time, The Wind Waker, etc. However, after that remake, we cannot make any more games. The Legend of Zelda ends here.
