Authorities Sunday continued to investigate the circumstances surrounding a deadly assault at a Hollywood bar.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said the assault occurred at a bar in the 1800 block of N. Cherokee Ave about 1:00 a.m. Saturday.
The male victim, 30 year old Jamie James O'Neill from Pacoima was taken to a local hospital where he died of a head injury.
The statement says one person was taken into custody. Authorities withheld the suspect’s identity, citing an ongoing investigation.
The victim's family said Jamie was an aspiring musician, audio engineer, video games programmer with extraordinary talent. "He did not deserve to die so soon, he had so much talent and potential," said one family member.
