The final president of Unified Somalia, Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed, said in an interview on December 27, 2019 that in January 2020, Somalia will split into three sovereign nations: Somaliland (red), Somalia (orange) and South Somalia (Yellow). Somaliland will continue to use the shilling, with the same president. Somalia will continue to use the Somali shilling, with the same president. South Somalia will use a new, currently unknown currency and all either become a monarch or a democracy.
