Recently, the Minecraft server Mineplex just announced that they will be shutting down their servers on the 1st of February, 2020. In an official statement, the owner of the server, Strutt20, said that "The server upkeep costs now surpass how much revenue we make in sales of in-game ranks and advertising. We cannot continue to run the server with the limited income we receive". The server is still open but will be closing down next year.
