On December 12, 2019, FIFA held a stadium inspection in Qatar and realized that about half of these stadiums weren’t even in progress of construction. Upsets all over the world have still been happening and to avoid further complaints, FIFA handed the rights to Indonesia on December 26, 2019.
Gianni Infantino said himself that “Indonesia is a prepared host for this kind of tournament. There are many other nations but since we handed hosting rights of the U20 World Cup in 2021 to Indonesia already, we voted on the matter against Indonesia and Peru and the votes show that Indonesia will now host the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
