Epic Games has officially announced that they will be shutting down Fortnite in 2020. They are shutting down Fortnite because they are losing players and want to push more resources into developing other titles and improving Unreal Engine 4. On 31st March 2020, they will begin shutting Fortnite on all platforms including PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC and mobile devices. To make sure the shutdown process is clean, Epic Games wants all users to uninstall Fortnite so that the accounts are free to be deleted from Fortnite's servers. They are hoping that all users will uninstall Fortnite by the 1st of March so that they can cleanly shut down Fortnite and delete all of the configuration files.
