In a unprecedented move by Epic Games, the creators of wildly successful game 'Fortnite', they have revealed that they will be canceling their star player, in replace for a 'Space Invaders' type mini game.
This news comes on the end of Fortnite's 'Season X', where players from around the country logged on at the same time to see a rocket launch into the sky, a series of events that lead to a massive black hole appearing in the center of the map, and everything sucked into it. This event was also followed by a massive Social Media blackout, a deletion of the 'Fortnite' category from wildly successful streaming site 'Twitch', and the website reduced to a live stream, showing a black hole in the middle of the screen.
In an interview with Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney about 'Fortnite', he announced that Fortnite would no longer be playable.
'The original plan was to send players into a new dimension and start a sequel of sorts for the game, but this idea was scrapped', he said, responding to a question about the Black Hole, and what it means for the future of Fortnite.
'Instead', he responded, 'We decided that it would be best if we stopped the game, and start fresh with a new game that we call 'Pizza Shooter'.
When players log on to Fortnite, they are met with a black hole, the exact one shown on the Fortnite live-streams. Upon typing the Konami Code, however, they are met with a short mini-game similar to 'Space Invaders', where a piece of pizza shoots burgers falling from the sky. According to Sweeney, this is all but a small Easter egg.
'Pizza Shooter will be the future of Fortnite.' He announced, 'The game will be free to download, and free to play.'
When asked about what will happen to Fortnite, he said simply 'Fortnite is never coming back. It had a good run, but it is finally over. We just want to say thank you to all of our committed players. All skins and remaining v-bucks earnt will exist no longer'.
