North Carolina Department of Agriculture informed NSF News that during a recent inspection that bed bugs were detected an ordered the owner of Mattress Emporium, Gerry Floyd to have his store and warehouse treated for bed bugs and to inform all past purchasers of the incident. In addition all floor models and warehouse mattresses must be sanitized by a North Carolina approved sanitizing company before Mattress Emporium will be allowed to reopen. The affected Inventory must be re tagged with a yellow tag number 1244 that indicates these mattresses are not to be considered new.
Also the North Carolina Department of Agriculture has required the Owner to provide the names and addresses of past purchases so that they may be contacted by the Agency.
