April 20, 2020, Cape Girardeau, MO
Early Sunday morning around 3 am Cape Girardeau police received reports of a hooded figure with a gun around the 300 block of Independence street in the Downtown Historic Distric. Officers arrived on scene and discovered Mathew Rosen, 19, crouched behind a parked car. Officers managed to subdue Rosen without incident.
Chief of Police Jimmy Hoffa said "The individual had knowledge and information of several dozen murders across Missouri, and evidence was found in the suspect's home to make him our prime suspect."
Cape PD refuses to make further comment, though sources inside the Cape County Sherrif's office say the FBI is aiding detectives.
