The last week Mory Hatem (La Voix 2019) released song and video featuring Dj and producer David Obegi was just shut down by Instagram and YouTube for Copyright Infringement. The record contains copyrighted content from Brazilian-Canadian artist Cesar Rezer, who owns the rights to work the record in Canada.
At the time the original record was released back in 2013, David Obegi signed an agreement with Cesar Rezer that a new version or a remix of the record could not be recorded and released without the copyright owner consent by written. Mory Hatem and Obegi completely ignored the fact that they could not launch the song without Cesar Rezer to be featured on the record or having a formal written consent for that.
Obegi’s Manager Miguel Lopez, CEO from Dogg Records, a Record Label owned by Snoop Dogg, contacted Cesar Rezer for an agreement to work out a new song and fix the issue. Once they come up with an agreement, Cesar Rezer will contact his record distributor to remove the claim and allow Mory Hatem’s video and record to be back.
