Hello fellow parents and carers. This is a message for all parents and caregivers of babies and toddlers who enjoy watching our channel Baby First TV. We are so sad to announce that our beloved TV channel Baby First will shut down on September 11, 2019 (this year). Since a lot of technical issues broadcasting the channel and the changes that are happening to TV lately, which could change things, and issues with society, we have made the difficult decision to cease broadcasting. With all these issues coming along, it is fair to say that as time goes on we will no longer be able to provide the service to you and your family. We wanted to carry on with Baby First and watch it grow even more, but if we didn’t make this decision it would start to become a even bigger issue which could mean we could have shut down unexpectedly at a random time. Part of this problem is to do with our target age group for this channel. Since we launched back in 2006, there has always been an issue with conflict which includes people complaining and sharing their concerns and even arguments with us that children under the age of 2 years old shouldn’t be watching TV. Our channel is aimed at children aged 3 years and under. Recent studies have shown that TV programs, shows and videos have no educational value in children under 2 even if it is targeted at them. This has also showed that it can damage their development and these children might develop developmental issues as they grow up. We hope you understand why we are closing down our channel in the next 2 months. We want to protect your family and our motto was to help your little ones learn a safe, educational and fun environment. It has been a pleasure to watch young children learn and grow these 12 short years and we hope you have a happy and positive future and remember us! The Baby First website will be available until we close our doors. All the other First Media platforms will remain running.
