Today, Head of Lucasfilm, Kathleen Kennedy, has stated the upcoming Rise of Skywalker has cancelled its theatrical run and will be released on Disney+. Her reasoning was that competition like Jumanji: The Next Level and Cats would make Rise of Skywalker another bomb at the box office like the previous Star Wars film, Solo: A Star Wars Story.
