Representant of Iceland on the Eurovision Song Contest 2019, Hatari, won the 24th edition of Medvision, collaborating with Palestinian singer Bashar Murad. Their victory resulted in mass protests in countries not recognizing Palestine.
The Israeli prime-minister, Binjamin Netanjahu, formally refused to host the 25th edition in Ramallach, stating it was rightfully Israel's territory.
