In a shock decision Falkland Islands Cricket Association appointed the new manager for four-year deal. Gustavo Moraes, a brazilian national is the newly appointed manager: "Our principal goal in this deal is improve cricket around South Georgia, Sandwich Islands and Antarctic (!)".
In April 2018, the ICC decided to grant full Twenty20 International (T20I) status to all its members. Therefore, all Twenty20 matches played between the Falkland Islands and other ICC members after 1 January 2019 are a full T20I.
